In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song; this Cornerstone, this solid Ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand. (song, "In Christ Alone," By Keith Getty / Stuart Townend)

'Find passion and purpose for the rest of your life'. The sub-title to 'Embracing Your Second Calling' by Dale Hanson Bourke. Naomi in the book of Ruth is used as an example throughout as she had a full life in the beginning and later as a widow asked her friends to call her a new name - Mara - which means bitter as she had lost all her 'identity'. The author does an excellent job of helping one work through thoughts, giftings, and so much more to live life with a new vision and purpose when one 'may feel upended by aging, changes in our lives, and fear about the future' . She shares how prayer is a foundation for this second calling in our lives. In prayer we can come to the person God created us to be, no longer just defined by our children or career or the many other things that have given us a title and purpose in the first half of our lives. There are specific activities of 'Reflect' and 'Act' throughout the book that causes one to search and you will come away changed! I will be going through this book a second time as a book study with friends that we would be challenged, and shown how, to live the rest of our lives with passion and purpose!
